چکیده:
The calcined MCM-41 on its own and modified with anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) were used for adsorption and removal of methylen blue (MB). Methods of XRD, UV-Vis, DRS, BET and organic-phase extraction were used for structural characterization of the adsorbent and for evaluation of the amount of loading of SDS onto adsorbent, respectively. Strength of interaction of the dyes with the mesoporous system was performed by ultrasonic bath and Soxhlet. Effect of pH, adsorbent dose and contact time were investigated for adsorption of the dye at different concentration of SDS which was pre-adsorbed on MCM-41. The Langmuir and Frendlich isotherms for the adsorption of MB at different conditions were calculated. The best adsorbent based on this work was found to be MCM-41 with a pre-adsorption of SDS in the hemi-micellar concentration rang (~500 ppm) at a moderate pH 4.
